How a Pinterest QR code works
The code holds your Pinterest link, such as pinterest.com/yourbrand/. When someone scans it, the Pinterest app opens on your profile, where they can follow you and save your pins. Without the app, it opens in the browser.
Type your username with or without the @, or paste a link to a board, a single pin or a pin.it short link.
Profile, board or pin?
- Profile: best for creators and brands with many boards. People browse and follow.
- Board: best when the print is about one theme, such as “Summer collection”, “Kitchen ideas” or “Our wedding moodboard”.
- Pin: best for one product, one recipe or one tutorial.
Boards are often the strongest choice. A board titled like the print (“Spring bouquets 2026”) gives people exactly what they came for.

A dynamic QR code stores a short link you control, so you can point it at a new board every season without reprinting your catalogue or shop display, and see how many people scanned.
Pinterest and your shop
If you sell products, Pinterest works well as a bridge between print and your online shop. A catalogue page or hangtag links to a board, each pin on the board links to a product page, and people save the pins they like for later, which keeps you in their feed long after they’ve put the catalogue down. For a single product, you can also skip Pinterest and link straight to the product with a URL or Amazon QR code.
If you rename a board
Renaming a board can change its link. Rename boards before you print, or use a dynamic code for boards you’ll keep reorganising.
Print tips
Pinterest profile links are short and scan well at 2 cm. Board links are longer, so give them 2.5 cm or more on cards and tags. Keep the code dark on a light background, and use Pinterest red in the frame rather than in the code.
