Cookie policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. This page lists everything we use and how to control it.

1. Your choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional analytics.

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing optional runs until you choose “Accept”.
  • Elsewhere, analytics run by default, and “Reject” switches them off.

Change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of every page. Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months.

2. Essential

These are needed for the site to work, so they can’t be switched off.

Name Provider Purpose Lasts
qs-consent (local storage) QRStitch Remembers your cookie choice 12 months
Session cookie QRStitch Keeps you signed in (accounts only) Up to 30 days
__cf_bm Cloudflare Tells people apart from bots to protect the site 30 minutes

Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from bots, may also use short-lived technical data to run its check. It doesn’t track you across sites.

3. Analytics (optional)

These help us understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck, so we can improve QRStitch. They don’t identify you by name, and we don’t use them for advertising.

Name Provider Purpose Lasts
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics Counts visits and pages viewed 2 years
_clck, _clsk Microsoft Clarity Groups page views into a visit, for heatmaps and session insights 1 year / 1 day
CLID, MUID Microsoft Clarity Recognises a returning browser across Clarity sites 1 year

We use Google Consent Mode: until you accept (where consent is required), Google Analytics receives only anonymous, cookieless signals.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page loads. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn’t follow you across sites, so it runs without a consent choice.

4. Advertising

We don’t use advertising cookies today. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

5. Scans of dynamic QR codes

When someone scans a dynamic QR code, the redirect sets no cookies. Scan statistics are counted without cookies and without storing IP addresses. See the privacy policy.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as signing in, from working.
