QR Code Scanner
Scan with your camera or from an image, and check the link before you open it.
Allow camera access to scan
Nothing is uploaded: scanning happens on your device.
Works best in good light, with the whole code in view.
Scan a code to see what’s inside. We always show you the link before you open it.
How to scan a QR code on any device
- iPhone: open the Camera app and point it at the code, then tap the banner that appears.
- Android: open the Camera app or Google Lens and point it at the code. On some phones, the scanner is in the quick settings panel.
- Laptop or desktop: use this page with your webcam, or upload a screenshot or photo of the code.
- A code on your own screen, in an email, a PDF or a chat: take a screenshot and upload it here.
See where a link goes before you open it
Scammers use QR codes to send people to fake payment and login pages, a trick known as quishing. This scanner never opens a link automatically. It shows the full address first and flags common warning signs:
- Shortened links that hide the real destination
- Plain http:// pages that aren’t encrypted
- Look-alike addresses, such as a bank’s name with extra words or odd spellings
You decide whether to open the link, copy it, or walk away.
How to spot a scam QR code
- A sticker on top of another code, especially on parking meters, EV chargers and shop counters
- A code that asks for a password, OTP or card details after scanning
- Unexpected codes in emails or letters claiming to be from your bank, a courier or the tax office
- Payment codes that ask for your PIN to receive money. Receiving money never needs a PIN.
When in doubt, type the website address yourself instead of scanning.
What this scanner reads
All standard QR codes, including links, plain text, WiFi details, contact cards, email, SMS, phone numbers, calendar events and UPI payment codes. It shows what’s inside in plain language, such as the network name for a WiFi code, so you know what you’re about to do.
Private by design
The camera feed and your images are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded to QRStitch, and we don’t keep a history of what you scan.
