How a Revolut QR code works

The code holds your payment link, revolut.me/yourname. When someone scans it, your Revolut payment page opens with your name and photo. Revolut users can pay you straight from the app, usually instantly and without fees between Revolut accounts. What other payers see depends on their country and on the options Revolut offers at the time.

Type your Revtag with or without the @, or paste your full revolut.me link.

Find your Revtag

Open the Revolut app and go to your profile: your Revtag is the @username shown there. You can also find your revolut.me link in the app’s payment request or “Get paid” options. Choose a Revtag people will recognise, because it appears on your payment page.

Where people use Revolut QR codes

  • Friends and flatmates: rent, bills, holidays and dinners
  • Freelancers, on invoices and business cards
  • Market stalls, workshops and classes across Europe
  • Clubs, teams and student societies, for fees and events
  • Creators and performers, for tips and support
  • Travel groups, for shared costs in different currencies

Make it easy to pay the right amount

Your revolut.me page lets the payer type the amount. To avoid mistakes:

  • Print the price clearly next to the code, such as “Workshop: €20”.
  • Ask for a reference in the payment note, such as a name or order number.
  • Use one code per stall or event, so you can match payments to where they came from.

Safety tips

  • Scan your own code before printing, and check your name and photo appear.
  • Check public displays now and then for stickers placed over your code.
  • Print your Revtag in text under the code, so payers can check they’re paying you.

Revolut, PayPal or UPI?

  • Revolut is quickest when your payers use Revolut, which is common in the UK and Europe.
  • PayPal reaches payers in more countries, and can fill in the amount.
  • UPI is the best choice in India: every UPI app can pay it.
  • A payment link takes cards and wallets on one checkout page.

Static and dynamic codes

This is a static code: the link is stored in the pattern, free and permanent. You can’t change it after printing. A dynamic QR code stores a short link you control, so you can switch payment methods later without reprinting, and see how many people scanned.

If you change your Revtag

Changing your Revtag changes your revolut.me link, and printed codes may stop working. Pick your Revtag before you print, or use a dynamic code.

revolut.me links are short, so the code scans well at 2 cm on cards and counter stands. Keep it dark on a light background, and leave a clear margin around it.

Revolut QR code questions

What is a Revtag?
It’s your unique @username in Revolut. Your revolut.me link uses it, like revolut.me/yourname.

It depends on their country and Revolut’s current options. Revolut users can always pay instantly; others see the options Revolut offers them on the page.
