How to create a TikTok QR code
- 1
Add your username
Type your @username, or paste a link to your profile or a single video.
- 2
Design it
Add your colours, logo and a frame such as “Follow us on TikTok”.
- 3
Download and test
Scan it with a phone that has TikTok and one that doesn’t, to see both experiences.
How a TikTok QR code works
The code holds your profile link, tiktok.com/@yourbrand. When someone scans it, TikTok opens on your profile with the Follow button and your latest videos. If they don’t have the app, the profile opens in their browser, where they can still watch.
You can type your username with or without the @, or paste any TikTok link: your profile, a single video, or a sound.
TikTok’s own QR code vs this one
TikTok can show a QR code for your profile inside the app. It’s handy for face-to-face sharing, but it isn’t built for print. A code made here gives you:
- Your brand colours, logo and a call-to-action frame
- Print-ready SVG and high-resolution PNG files, sharp from stickers to banners
- A scan check that warns you when colours or a logo make the code hard to read
- An upgrade path to a dynamic QR code, so you can change the link and count scans
Profile or video?
Link to your profile when you want followers: it shows everything you post, and the Follow button is one tap away. Link to a single video when the print is about one thing, such as a product demo, a recipe or a how-to. Scanners watch that video first and can still tap through to your profile.
Where to put your TikTok QR code
- Product packaging and inserts: “See how it’s made” or “Watch the tutorial”
- Shop windows, counters and changing rooms
- Café and restaurant tables, for places that post their dishes and behind-the-scenes clips
- Event stages, merch tables and photo walls
- Flyers, posters and stickers for launches and pop-ups
- Business cards for creators, artists and small brands
Tips to get more follows
- Promise something specific: “Watch the recipe”, “See the full outfit”, “Behind the scenes”. A reason beats a logo.
- Check your account is public. Private accounts show scanners a locked profile.
- Pin your best videos to the top of your profile, so new visitors see them first.
- Match the print to a video. If the poster shows a product, pin a video about that product.
- Keep your username short and readable, and print it in text under the code as well.
Measure what’s working
TikTok’s analytics show profile views and new followers, but not which print sent them. Give each placement its own dynamic QR code to see scans per code by day, city and device. You can also point a dynamic code at a new video each week without reprinting.
If you change your username
A static code points to your username at the time you made it. If you rename your account, printed codes lead to an empty page, and someone else could take your old name. If a rename is possible, use a dynamic code so you can update the link later.
Print tips
TikTok profile links are short, so the code scans well at 2 cm on labels and cards. On posters and windows, make it bigger: about a tenth of the distance people stand away. Keep the code dark on a light background, and put TikTok’s colours in the frame around it instead.
